The Black Sea
18 × 24. Acrylic on board. Framed
This painting is a vibrant, abstract piece that uses a fluid art technique. The colour palette is bold and dynamic, dominated by three main hues: a deep, rich red, a stark black, and a bright, almost neon green. These colours swirl and blend into each other, creating a sense of movement and energy. The red occupies a significant portion of the left and upper sections, flowing in thick, wave-like patterns. It mixes with the black, which forms a large, irregular shape in the center-right, almost resembling a silhouette or a void that absorbs the surrounding colours. The green, along with hints of blue and yellow, emerges predominantly in the lower right quadrant, adding a luminous, almost electric contrast to the darker tones. Thin, wispy streaks of lighter colours—white, yellow, and blue—thread through the composition, adding depth and a sense of motion, as if the colours are still in the process of mixing.
The texture appears smooth and glossy, typical of fluid art, with the colours creating a marbled effect. The painting evokes a sense of chaos and intensity, possibly suggesting themes of conflict, energy, or transformation, though its abstract nature leaves much open to interpretation. The interplay of colours and the organic flow give it a raw, almost primal feel.
