the bio
I am a newcomer to the world of abstract art. Upon retiring from professional work as a technical writer and e-learning content creator, I picked up the paint brush and started to fill canvases, undeterred by the absence of formal art training.
I have experimented with a wide variety of styles, influenced by artists such as Joan Miro, Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Pat Steir, and Sam Francis, among others. My numerous and varied works reflect my intuitive grasp of colour and composition. These are what drive my creativity.
When I am not in the studio working on my latest abstract piece, I am in the pool swimming laps, cycling outdoor in warm weather and taking spinning classes indoor during the winter, cross-country skiing, and running year-round in all kinds of weather. I also enjoy playing my electric piano, which shares studio space with my easel. The days in retirement fly by, and there is never a dull moment.
I live in Ottawa with my very supportive and helpful wife, Marian. We have three wonderful children. Our cat, Miss Em, keeps an eye on everything that happens in the house.
